EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
As owner and anchor tenant of Catalyst-137 — a 475,000 sq ft repurposed warehouse in Kitchener — Miovision Technologies needed a single integrator who could deliver enterprise-grade cabling, AV, and acoustics across a workspace three times the size of their previous office. Tekena designed and delivered Phase 1 across 75,000 sq ft, integrating 27 screens, a centralized Crestron control system, sound masking for the open warehouse environment, and a showcase central meeting hub. The result is a seamless, scalable technology backbone that Miovision is replicating for Phase 2 with no changes.
THE CHALLENGE
Miovision’s move into Catalyst-137 represented a major scale-up — in space, ambition, and technology requirements. The team needed a single integrator capable of managing every layer of the build, with four clear priorities:
We needed a team who would manage the project and save us from coordinating across multiple vendors. Tekena fit the bill.

THE SOLUTION
Tekena worked closely with Miovision from design through delivery, layering each technology onto a prefabricated foundation built for scale and change:
I outlined how I wanted it to work and then Tekena took care of the rest. That’s what I was looking for.

UNIFIED TOUCH PANEL
The completed integration has had what Miovision calls a “positively drastic” impact on day-to-day operations:
A big win has been the simplification of everything down to a unified touch panel. You present, and one button turns on all the right audio and all the right TVs.
— Director, IS/IT, Miovision
Some of the things Tekena addressed without us having to intervene was probably a cut above data companies I have worked with in the past.

LOOKING FORWARD
Miovision is moving directly into Phase 2 — an additional 80,000 sq ft fit-out — with the same approach and the same partner. The model has also extended beyond Miovision’s own footprint: Tekena has been engaged by the Catalyst-137 building owners and other tenants, delivering sound masking, AV integration, and a videowall across common areas.
No notable mistakes, no regrets. We will repeat the same thing with no changes.

A lot of people spend money on the hardware, but they don’t want to spend any money on configuration. If you’ve got the right people doing it, you’ve got the better experience. It has nothing to do with the hardware, and everything to do with who’s doing it for you.
