Enbridge’s new Edmonton headquarters demanded an office environment that could evolve as fast as the business itself — walls, workstations, and acoustics all reconfigurable within a single weekend. Tekena designed and delivered a fully prefabricated, off-site assembled solution spanning 300,000 sq ft across 15 floors, completed within a demanding 9-month schedule. The result is a dynamic, future-proofed workplace that Enbridge sees as the model for its locations to come.

The Enbridge Edmonton Centre team set out with a clear and ambitious vision: a workplace built for change. The space needed to support a modern, dynamic workforce — one that could be reconfigured quickly as business needs shifted. Specific requirements included:

• The ability to move walls, shuffle teams, and reconfigure floors with minimal disruption to daily operations.
• Full end-user control of sound masking across all 15 floors from a single network device.
• A complete weekend turnaround capability — shut down Friday night, reopen Monday morning with cabling, sound masking, walls, and furniture all changed within 48 hours.
• Delivery on a tight 9-month schedule that many bidders said couldn’t be met.

• Prefabricated structured cabling — a modular data communications platform that can be expanded, reconfigured, or relocated as Enbridge's office needs evolve.
• Sound masking — networked acoustic control across all 15 floors, managed centrally from a single laptop.
• Desktop IT integration — design, scheduling, and weekend installation of every workstation connection, so employees arrived Monday to a fully working environment.

Each one of the installs was clean and crisp.
